Ellen serves as the volunteer Director of Developing Opportunity and handles the day-to-day administration, fundraising and donor relations. Previously she was an Executive Producer for Blue Field Entertainment and produced eleven documentaries for The History Channel including the critically acclaimed Return of the Pirates, Soldiers for Hire and the 8 part series Come Home Alive. Mai also produced the documentary special, Child Warriors, about child soldiers also for The History Channel to bring attention to these forgotten children. She also served as a camerawoman in Afghanistan and Peru for the documentary series The World's Most Dangerous Places. These projects have taken Ellen to some dangerous yet interesting areas including Iraq, Sierra Leone, and the pirate infested area of the Malacca Straits. Since her first overseas trip as an exchange student, Ellen has visited over 70 countries and has lived in Denmark, Spain, Panama and Japan. Ellen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California, a Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma, a Masters in International Relations degree from Old Dominion University and earned an ABD toward her Ph.D. in International Relations, also from ODU. |
